What’s known about traumatic encephalopathy syndrome (CTE) and PBM for sports-related concussion?

Dr. Lisa Laakso will discuss "What’s known about traumatic encephalopathy syndrome (CTE) and PBM for sports-related concussion."

Chronic TBI resulting from repeated concussion especially in collision and combat sports has attracted much attention. Use of the term CTE is confused between post-mortem neuropathology findings (where use of the term is correct) and pre-mortem neurological and psychiatric signs and symptoms correctly termed traumatic encephalopathy syndrome (TES). Using published evidence and positioning the known pathophysiology of TES with PBM mechanisms, this presentation will describe TES and why it may be amenable to transcranial Photobiomodulation.

Neuronic Discussion Group is a monthly meeting for professionals who are interested in the science, research, and application of Photobiomodulation and/or Neurofeedback.

The session will be recorded and uploaded to Neuronic’s public playlist on YouTube; if you prefer not to be recorded, please mute yourself and turn off your camera.  The link to the recording will be sent out by email the following week.

The aim of each discussion is to have a collaborative approach in the education of other professionals in regards to both PBM and Neurofeedback. This discussion group is hosted by Neuronic.
